Talks on Tap: How an insect disrupted the global wine industry

The next installment of our monthly Talks on Tap event, where experts, nerds, and other people-in-the-know tell us all about a fascinating topic while we sip beer... and WINE! Cal Poly Wine & Viticulture Professor Michael Costello will give a presentation entitled "The vine louse: how a tiny insect disrupted the global wine industry and ultimately transformed how grapes are grown."

This fascinating story tells how the USA unwittingly destroyed, then later heroically saved, the wine industry in France and beyond, all with a tiny insect that hid in grape roots. Admission is free and open to all ages; beer, cider, wine, and food available for purchase.
