In Concert! Funny, Political Folkie Roy Zimmerman

What's so funny about ignorance, war, and greed? Lots! Roy Zimmerman’s original songs are a funny and forceful affirmation of Peace and Social Justice. Roy’s songs have been heard on HBO and Showtime, and his videos have garnered tens of millions of views. Joni Mitchell and Weird Al Yankovic have praised Roy Zimmerman's work.

"Zimmerman displays a lacerating wit and keen awareness of society's foibles that bring to mind a latter-day Tom Lehrer."
-- Los Angeles Times.

"Without a doubt, Roy Zimmerman is among the most important political commentators of the last few decades, and in the end, it's the music that unites and disarms. With music this good and humor this insightful, there is good reason to be optimistic."
-- No Depression Magazine.

Roy Zimmerman has recorded for Warner/Reprise Records. He's shared stages with Bill Maher, Ellen DeGeneres, Holly Near, Robin Williams, Arlo Guthrie, John Oliver, Kate Clinton and George Carlin, and tours the country constantly with his wife and co-writer Melanie Harby.

Show begins 6:30pm at 7Sisters Brewing, 181 Tank Farm Rd. (at Long St., just north of Higuera), San Luis Obispo, (805) 868-7133. All ages OK. $15 cover; buy your tickets in advance and we'll save seats for you!

Pint Nite with Will Breman

Santa Barbara-based singer/songwriter Will Breman’s style is as eclectic as his background. HIs musical upbringing began with voice lessons from his mother and teaching himself guitar. Since then, Will has tried everything from screaming in metal bands to serenading at coffee shops, and most recently playing banjo in bluegrass groups and touring across the nation.

Will’s live performance has evolved over the years, and he currently uses a technique called “live looping” - a process where he records and plays back multiple instrument parts in real time, creating a “one man band” ‘effect. Meticulous at arranging his songs, Will believes this setup is truest to what he wants to express to his audiences.

Phil Lee & Eric Brace in Concert!

Two touring artists from the Americana music scene are teaming up for a special event -- Nashville's Eric Brace and Cayucos-based Phil Lee.

Phil Lee is, according to Glen Starkey of New Times, "a wiry little knife thrower and dog lover who unleashes a caustic barrage of his by turns hilarious and poignant songs." Another writer says, "Brash and literate and full of one-liners. He’s like the love child of Bob Dylan and Joan Rivers.” Native of North Carolina, longtime Nashvillian, Phil Lee spent a couple of decades playing drums, driving trucks, dumping motorcycles, hauling equipment, stealing hearts, eluding the authorities and raising Cain. Then he recorded several albums and toured the world. More at http://www.philleeone.com/

A Grammy-nominated producer, the front man of the acclaimed roots-rock band Last Train Home, half of a duo with songsmith Peter Cooper, and founder of East Nashville indie label Red Beet Records, Eric Brace is a prolific and admired artist. A former music journalist for the Washington Post, Brace relocated to Nashville in 2003 for a full-time musical life. With Last Train Home, he has released eight records and one live concert DVD. After moving to Nashville, Brace began touring and recording with duo partner Peter Cooper, and the pair has three much-lauded albums to their credit. You Don’t Have To Like Them Both (2008) was a #1 album on the Freeform American Roots Chart, Top Five on the Folk Chart, and Top Ten on the Americana chart.
